OCTOBER 2024 NEWSLETTER CAPITAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Building Together: Shape Our Next 50 Years

Fundraising Highlights

  • 2024 Goal: $500,000

  • Raised to date: $372,000

  • Promised pledges: $35,000

Spotlight Topic: House Parties

House parties are a key element to our fundraising strategy, and you can host one! Two events have been held so far, and we have three more lined up through the end of November. Our goal is to have house parties every month in 2025. If you are interested, please contact Beth at beth@berkeleypottersstudio.org.

It’s really straight forward to host an event: you pick a date; we help you pick out a theme to your event if you don’t have something in mind already; and then Beth will help you manage the lead-up to the event so that it goes smoothly. We can supply volunteers as well.

Volunteers Needed!

We need Volunteers to have a successful year-end fundraising season. As we make progress in our campaign, we’d love our studio community to be part of the journey. Email our Volunteer Coordinator, Marian at volunteer@berkeleypottersstudio.org to see how you can get involved in the Capital Campaign.

Did you know?

Almost all capital campaigns use something called a Case for Support (CFS) as the main call to action for their fundraising efforts. We have spent multiple months working on ours. In fact, we have developed three versions of our CFS for use in different situations. If you were at the Pottery Throwdown last month, you saw the shortest version, our 2-pager, that is focused on ways to give to our #next50 campaign. There is a robust 20-pager for foundations and individuals who are new to ceramics and our studio. Lastly, our website has a compelling 8-pager, highlighting who we are as a studio and how to support our community arts organization during the capital campaign. Read it at https://berkeleypottersstudio.org/next50 and you too can tell the story of our campaign to your network of friends, colleagues, and family.

We can only be successful and well-organized in the campaign if we have strong engagement from studio members and students. With your help, we can raise the final $100,000 of our 2024 goal!

Thank you,

Sandy Sherwin and Sue Meinke
