About Us
The Potters’ Studio — where art is about making and belonging.
For over 50 years, we’ve provided a home for clay enthusiasts and artists of all ages, uniting the community to share and deepen their passion and knowledge of ceramics. What started as a modest effort to offer pottery classes to a small group of teenagers and adults has blossomed into a thriving community hub that ignites creativity, fosters collaboration, and inspires lifelong learning.
Our New Home
Public support for our programs is at an all-time high and our growing ceramics community needs more space.
When our lease expired earlier this year, securing a new home to meet our needs took on new urgency.
The opportunity to purchase a nearby building – rather than seeking out another lease in a difficult market – brought us to a critical juncture, offering stability to secure our future.
Our Impact
Impact on Artists
With expanded and upgraded facilities, artists will have more opportunities for creative exploration and growth. The larger gallery and dedicated workshop spaces will provide more visibility and showcase their work to a broader audience.
Impact on the Community
Moving to a permanent home in the heart of this thriving creative community will strengthen our contributions to the Gilman District's cultural vibrancy. Our enhanced programs will amplify our impact, foster community engagement, and support the arts in new and exciting ways.
Sustainability Impact
Our new facility in the Gilman District will embrace sustainability with state-of-the-art dust mitigation and air filtration systems, eco-friendly lighting and heating, water conservation technologies, and the use of sustainable building materials.
